I recently purchased from Eaton Spring (about 8-12 mos. ago) new heavy-duty leaf springs for my 1989 Ford F-150 4WD pickup truck.

I currently run a pair of Monroe Gas shocks on the rear. Can you recommend an Eaton product that will provide more stability with heavy loads in the bed and towing heavy trailers.

FYI: I have upgraded the Ford 8.8 rear end with Moser axles & bearings. I have also installed a HD driveshaft by Driveshaft Specialties, Inc. with the flanged connection at the rear and Spicer XL U-joints.

Also, the truck is now sporting a new Ford built 302 cu. in. V8 / 345 HP to help with the heavy hauling.

Most will want their springs beefed up so they will be able to haul the extra weight. The drawback is when the load is not being carried the truck rides like a truck. And today's trucks are designed to give a pretty nice ride.

We have the perfect product for those who occasionaly haul an extra load. It is a rubber helper spring that simply bolts to the frame and automaticaly engages when the extra load is being carried. With these helpers the truck maintains it's factory ride when empty, yet has the strenght to carry up to 3,000 extra pounds. (up to 6,000 lbs for a one ton truck).
