Hello,

Can I drill a hole in a leaf spring. . . .????

Can you make a spring with a hole in it??

Like one 2.5" wide (1/2 thick) and with a 1/2" dia. hole???

Just wondering.

Your wondering is over RR2, you can drill a hole in a leaf spring. Use a carbide tip drill and spin it rrrreeeeeeaaaaaaalllllllll ssssssllllllloooooowwwww. And take your time. Hardened spring steel is some realy tough stuff. Heck even un-hardened spring steel is tough.

Just take a look at a spring, is there a hole in it? Yes we can put a hole in a spring. But we do not drill it, we use a 65 ton press that punches the hole in it.

As for a 1/2" hole in a 2.5 wide by .499 thick, we can do it.
