Attaching Parts

It takes more than just new springs to achieve better handling. Replacing just the springs and reusing the old eye bolts, bushings, u-bolts and shackles is just doing half a job. While they may look OK, those parts are just as old and worn as the springs you replaced.

Using the old eye bolts, bushings and u-bolts may not allow the new springs to perform as they should. In fact re-using the old parts can place undue stress on the new springs.

Old U-bolts can not achieve and maintain the correct torque.

Rubber can be dry and cracked.

Threads on the shackles can be stripped.

Do your car and you a favor and replace those old parts.
